Randy Lewis: A Lifelong Commitment to the Land

Randy Lewis began his farming journey early. In 1981, he purchased the family farm from his grandmother Margaret, who had previously sold off her dairy herd in 1972. Driven by a passion to keep small-scale family dairy alive in North Carolina, Randy brought cows back to the rolling fields of Snow Camp and built a Grade A bottling facility directly on the farm.

Independent Bottling & Quality

Rather than sending his milk off to mass industrial co-ops, Randy established on-farm processing. Ran-Lew Dairy pasteurizes milk using traditional low-temperature vat pasteurization, preserving natural enzymes, rich flavor, and a classic cream layer on top.

The Herd & Pasture Life

50 Cows Grazing on 110 Acres

At the heart of Ran-Lew Dairy is a mixed herd of approximately 50 milking cows—including Holsteins, Jerseys, Guernseys, and even a Milking Shorthorn. They spend their days grazing across 110 acres of pasture in Snow Camp, free from synthetic growth hormones (rBST) or artificial confinement.

Non-Homogenized Cream-Top

Ran-Lew milk is non-homogenized, allowing the cream to naturally rise to the top just as nature intended—delivering an unmatched, nostalgic dairy taste.

Vat Pasteurization

Gently heated in small batches rather than high-heat flash processing, keeping original milk flavors and beneficial proteins intact.

Community Heritage & Traditions

Community, Square Dancing & "The Last Barn Dance"
